2020 Cabernet Franc Shenandoah Valley (6 Bottles)

Nose opens with bell and white pepper, before transitioning into a melange of red cherry, strawberry, raspberry. Eucalyptus and fennel lengthen into italian herbs and sweet tobacco. Cloves, cola and vanilla convey delightful sweetness. On the palate, the wine takes balance to an extreme with matched acidity, tannin, and body that lengthen into a medium finish. But lest you think this wine average, pair it with a sweet tomato sauce or lighter italian fare… or enjoy its sweeter side paired with a cheeseboard or simply a glass!

Winemaker’s Notes: 100% Cabernet Franc, 1.5 Tons. Harvested: October 10th. Minimum effective sulfites. Aging: 100% French oak barrels (43% new) for 17 months. Bottled: March 2022. 70 cases produced. 12.8% Alcohol

2021 Cabernet Franc Shenandoah Valley (6 Bottles)

Complex and savory nose with bell pepper that transitions into jammy strawberry, redcurrant, black cherry kirsch and fig. White pepper and eucalyptus lead into fresh oregano and thyme,  mushroom and leather. Baking spice and vanilla are layered throughout. On the palate, the wine is a well balanced medium wine with a pleasing acidity. Milder tannins lean out the body, but still carry the wine into a lengthy finish. This wine lends itself to a glass enjoyed on its own or would pair well with charcuterie or lighter mediterranean appetizers. 

Winemaker’s Notes: 100% Cabernet Franc, 1.5 Tons. Harvested: October 14th. Minimum effective sulfites. Aging: 100% French oak barrels (33% new) for 16 months. Bottled: February 2023. 70 cases produced. 13% Alcohol
